Arcata is home to Cal-Poly Humboldt, my alma mater! The Cal-Poly Humboldt campus is found right at the edge of the Arcata Community Forest, with 2,350 acres of trails to explore.

Are you looking for something more social? Find a place to park in downtown Arcata and just enjoy the unique shops in the Creamery District and the Arcata Plaza, take in a show at the Arcata Theater Lounge and Historic Minor Theater, or make new friends at one of the local establishments.

Do NOT miss the Arcata Farmer’s Market every Saturday on the Plaza. The market isn’t all about food and shopping. The Arcata Farmer’s Market is an experience! You never know what kind of entertainment you’ll find from local jugglers, aerial silk performers, bands – you might even run into a fairy or two!

For the bird lover in your life, the Arcata Marsh and Wildlife Sanctuary is prime birding territory.
